The Kaltern Winery, founded in 1906 with its 450 wine growers and a cultivation area of about 300 hectares,is among the most important quality wineries in South Tyrol and in Italy. Its members run the very heart of South Tyrol's wine-producing area around Lake Kaltern.

The wine-growing estates of  Pfarrhof und Castel Giovanelli are of the highest quality as are the single vineyard wines (Lagenweine). The self-imposed philosophy of quality is a mission and an incentive at the same time. Our winegrowers' ambition is to achieve the highest quality of grapes possible. As for the wines produced on the other vineyards the winegrowers are not simply grapes suppliers but they are also involved in the work in the cellar, in the ongoing wine tasting as well as in the decisions regarding further expansions. By doing this they become wine producers.
