Details of the location

The vineyards are located on a southeast-facing slope 220 to 260 meters above sea level. The microclimate there is very warm. The soil is loamy with limestone gravel and a layer of sand, which enables good heat storage capacity and drainage.

From grape to wine

The grapes undergo mash fermentation in a wooden fermentation barrel at 28 °C with a three-week maceration period. After malolactic fermentation, the wine is aged in barriques for twelve months before being lightly filtered and bottled.

The wine in the glass

− intense ruby red
− intense nose with cinnamon and undergrowth notes, fresh forest berries such as blackberry and blackcurrant;
− strong but fine-grained tannin; powerful with a lot of smoothness, fine tobacco and licorice notes on the finish, elegant finish;

The perfect accompaniment

Goes well with a juicy beef tagliata with arugula and parmesan shavings, venison fillet with walnut crust and red cabbage, braised beef roulades with potato noodles and flavorful cheese.

The origin of this wine

Cabernet Sauvignon also originates from the Bordeaux region in France and emerged in the 17th century through a natural cross between Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc. Today, it is one of the most famous and widely planted red grape varieties in the world. It was introduced to Alto Adige – like Merlot – towards the end of the 19th century. In the warmer areas of the region, it ripens well and produces powerful, structured wines with intense aromas.
