Details of the location

The vineyards extend over an east-facing zone at 550 to 600 meters above sea level. They are situated on an alluvial cone composed of limestone debris, mainly angular dolomite rocks, with a fine soil of reddish clay. The soil is very deep, loose, well-aerated, and well-drained.

From grape to wine

The whole grapes are pressed, followed by natural sedimentation to remove impurities. The wine then matures for 11 months in large wooden barrels with continuous bâtonnage. Finally, the wine matures for an additional four months in stainless steel tanks on the fine lees.

This wine pairs well with tasty fish soup, herb risotto, fried fish, and grilled poultry. In can further develop in depth and complexity with additional bottle aging.

The origin of this wine

In 1852 the Pinot Blanc was brought to Alto Adige by the Archduke John of Austria and since then it brings excellent results. Many experts consider Alto Adige as one of the best growing areas for Pinot Blanc worldwide.
