Der Südtiroler St. Magdalener wird hauptsächlich aus der autochthonen Vernatschtraube gewonnen. Er gilt als relativ füllig und ist somit der kräftigste Wein aus der großen Vernatschfamilie.

The weather conditions made 2019 a challenging year for our winegrowers. A relatively mild winter and early spring were followed by a wet and cool April and May. After the flowering of the vines, which was not until June, the weather changed and it became hot and dry. In late summer, some rain and below-average temperatures delayed the ripening of the grapes. Harvesting the healthy grapes began in early September and continued until the end of October.

– deep cherry red
– fruit-dominated nose, reminiscent of cherries, a light undertone of bitter almonds and violets
– juicy and voluptuous on the palate, soft and round on the finish

This wine is well paired with pasta dishes, as well as lighter meats.

Fermentation on the skins at 26 °C with 7-days extended maceration, malo-lactic fermentation and 4-month ageing on the fine lees in stainless steel and large casks.

South-facing slopes situated at 300 – 450 meters above sea level. Sandy, eroded porphyry soil, heat-retaining and well-drained.
