Overall, the weather was very good in the 2018 wine-growing year. Precipitation in winter and spring provided sufficient moisture and thus ideal fruiting conditions. Long hours of sunshine and above-average temperatures in summer and autumn led to very dry conditions compensated by some heavy thunderstorms in August. Thanks to the optimum weather conditions in late summer, it was possible to harvest a healthy and ripe grape crop.

– light pink-ruby in color
– delicately fruity, reminiscent of raspberries and wild cherries
– fresh and juicy on the palate

This wine pairs well with heavier appetizers, as well as fish and white meats. It is an ideal wine for summer.

The basis of this rosé wine is very important. The best red wines of the vintage are crushed, and the first blush of pigment is allowed to color the must before part of it is drained off to be fermented at cool temperatures as a rosé wine.

Top red wine vineyards. Warm locations west and north. Loamy, sandy weathered chalk with gravel.
